Meeting Allah in Jannah: Why We Hope He’ll Remember Us?

Have you ever think about how there was a time, way back in history, when humans were so tiny and unimportant that nobody even knew we existed? This question makes you wonder about something really important about us: we all really want to be noticed and remembered. Let’s think more about this feeling and how it all comes together when we finally meet Allah in jannah.

What is Medkoor? (Remembered)

Being human is all about love and kindness, which you can see in the meaning of the word “Insan” – it comes from “Uns,” which means love and compassion. This shows that we don’t just need to give love; we also really need to get love back. This wish to connect with others also means we have a deep desire to be noticed, to be someone people talk about and remember – like being “Medkoor.”

Allah in Jannah

Right from when we’re tiny babies, you can see this need in how kids always want people to pay attention to them and notice them. A baby cries so their mom will look at them, and when a little kid makes a simple drawing, they’re so proud to show it off, saying things like, “Look mom at me! Look at this! Look again mom!” This isn’t just kids being silly; it’s something built into all of us – we want to be seen and know that what we do matters.

But as we get older, this wish to be noticed changes a bit, but it never really goes away. Teenagers spend a lot of time picking out their clothes because they want people to see them and talk about them. When people get married, they want their partners to appreciate them, and kids really want to make their moms and dads proud, so they’re excited to share when they do something well.

Even with all the social media we use now, you can still see this need really strongly. When people worry about not being online or not having enough followers, it’s because they’re afraid of not being seen, of not being “Medkoor.”

How to Find True Acknowledgement?

Even though it’s clear that people want to be remembered, some people can never fully make us feel remembered forever. We might have moments when people notice us, but in the end, people forget things. That’s why the amazing promise of meeting Allah in jannah gives us a different kind of hope – one that lasts forever.

Imagine yourself wearing the most beautiful clothes in Heaven, getting ready to meet Allah face-to-face. In this special meeting, Allah Himself will give believers a drink and say, “This is what you earned, this is your reward, and we saw what you did; we noticed your efforts.” This way that Allah acknowledges us is way better than just people remembering us.

Even though people are created and others might remember us or not, Allah will remember all the good things we do for way longer than the universe has even been around. This is the best way our deep wish to be “Medkoor” – to be remembered and noticed – can come true: when the Creator Himself remembers us. Doing Zikr, which is remembering Allah Almighty, is important, but this verse also shows that Allah is also doing Zikr of you, remembering and noticing all the things you’ve tried to do.

How Will Allah Remember You?

As we go through life, especially when big things happen like finishing school or changing jobs, the main thing we should ask ourselves is, “How will Allah remember this time?” What kind of mark are we leaving behind, and are we doing things that will make Allah remember us in a good way?

Allah in Jannah

It’s a real fact that people’s memories don’t last forever. Even when we do nice things for others, they might forget about it after a while. But our connection with Allah is forever, and He’s the only one whose memory really matters. A strong truth from the Quran: “Today we are forgetting you, just like you forgot about this day.” This shows us the important choice we have: do we want people to remember us for a little while, or do we want Allah to remember us forever?

If you want to make your connection stronger with Allah (swt), read surah mulk.

Conclusion

In conclusion, wanting to be remembered is just part of what it means to be human. We might want people to notice us and say we did a good job, but the real and forever kind of being remembered comes from Allah. The promise of meeting Him in Heaven includes Him personally saying that He saw our efforts – a reward that makes our deepest wish to be “Medkoor” completely come true.

So, let’s try our best to live in a way that makes Allah remember us in a good way. Let’s focus on doing things that make Him happy and that leave a good mark on the world. May Allah help us be among the people He truly remembers and gives that amazing drink to on Judgment Day.
